How to Make Jamaican Boiled Dumplings

Jamaican Boiled Dumpling is an amazing side dish you can pair with anything. With only 3 ingredients you most likely have them in your pantry. With only flour, cornmeal, and water that is kneaded into a dough, torn off into small pieces, rolled into a ball, and boiled in water for about 15-20 minutes. Pair it with any dish and you’ll have the perfect meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • Water as needed

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot of water with salt and oil place it over high heat to bring to a boil.
  • Knead all the ingredients together adding water a little at a time to make a soft dough (not sticky, add more flour a tablespoon at a time if the dough is sticky).
  • Pinch or cut off pieces of the dough and form a ball then flatten into a disc
  • Drop dough into the water then stir to ensure it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot.
  • Continue this step util you've used up all the dough.
  • Boil until done, dumplings will float when they are cooked through.
  • Pair with meat of choice and Enjoy!
