Jamaican Bag Juice
Jamaican Bag Juice has a special place In the hearts of Jamaicans, this sweet tradition quenches the thirst of generations. This simple, iconic drink is more than a beverage. Ingredients
- 1 cup fruit syrup or juice concentrate. Traditional flavors are pineapple. WE USED TANG MIX. , orange, strawberry, and fruit punch.
- 4 cups water (you can adjust depending on how sweet or strong you want the flavor)
- * Sugar (optional) – If using unsweetened fruit juice or you want a sweeter drink
- Small plastic bags (4x6 inches is a good size, but you can adjust based on your preference)
- Twist ties or rubber bands (for sealing the bags)
- ⅛ cup ginger juice
- 2 limes or lemon juice
- Funnel (optional, to make pouring easier)
Instructions
Prepare the Juice Mixture:
- In a large pitcher or mixing bowl, combine the fruit syrup or juice concentrate with water. Stir well to ensure the syrup or concentrate is fully dissolved.
- If you're using unsweetened juice or want your bag juice sweeter, add sugar to taste. Stir until it dissolves.
Fill the Bags:
- Using a funnel or a steady hand, carefully pour the juice mixture into the small plastic bags. Fill each bag about three-quarters full to allow space for sealing.
Seal the Bags:
- Once filled, carefully seal it with the bag sealer.
Freeze the Bags:
- Place the sealed bags upright in the freezer. Allow them to freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight until they’re solid. For a slushy texture, freeze for less time or allow the bag juice to thaw slightly before serving.
Serve:
- Your homemade bag juice is ready! To enjoy, simply tear or cut off a corner of the bag and sip the refreshing, icy drink directly from the bag.
