Instructions
Instructions for Air Fryer Jerk Chicken Thighs
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Season the Chicken. Mix the chicken thighs and Jamaican jerk seasoning in a large bowl. Add the other listed seasonings and olive oil. Ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the seasonings and oil.
Cook the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken thighs in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 15-20 minutes. Turn halfway. Stop when the inside is 165°F and the outside is brown and crispy.
Rest and Shred: Remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Once cooled slightly, shred the chicken using two forks.
Incorporate the Chicken into the Dip
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Make the Roux
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter melts, add the flour. Whisk continuously for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and golden. This is the roux.
Add in the cooked chicken to the skillet once the cream thickens. Stir to combine.
Add Cheese
Add the shredded cheese to the skillet. Stir constantly until the cheeses melt and the mixture is smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, you can add more cream. Add it until the mixture is the consistency you want.
Taste the dip. Season it with complete seasoning, adobo, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper as needed.
Bake
Transfer the dip to an oven-safe baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly and the top is slightly golden.
Garnish and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool . Garnish with extra chopped scallions. Serve it hot with tortilla chips, pita chips, crackers, or veggie sticks. Or use your preferred dippers.
