Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of turkey wings approximately 8 wings
  • ¼ cup of jerk marinade homemade or store-bought
  • cooking spray
  • ½ cup of ketchup
  • 5 tbsp of bbq sauce
  • ¼ cup of duck sauce
  • sugar to taste

Instructions

Marinate the Turkey Wings

  • In a large bowl, place the turkey wings and coat them with the jerk marinade. Ensure that each wing is well-covered.
  • Allow the wings to marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, in the refrigerator. This will infuse the flavors into the meat and enhance the taste.

Preparing the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for a few minutes.
  • While the air fryer is preheating, lightly brush the air fryer basket with vegetable oil. This will help prevent the wings from sticking and promote even cooking.

Air Frying the Turkey Wings

  • Once the air fryer is preheated, place the marinated turkey wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure proper air circulation and even cooking.
  • Cook the wings at 380°F (193°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time.
  • If desired, you can brush the wings with additional jerk marinade during cooking for an extra burst of flavor.

Sauce for Wings

  • In a bowl add ketchup, honey BBQ sauce, duck sauce or honey, and sugar. Mix to combine.
  • Brush the wings with the sauce after the wings are done cooking for an extra burst of flavor.

Resting and Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in tender and juicy meat.
  • Serve the air fryer jerk turkey wings hot, garnished with fresh herbs like chives or green onion for a refreshing touch. You can also serve them with traditional side dishes like rice and peas or plantains for a complete Caribbean-inspired meal.
