Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups eggnog
  • ¼ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp white rum or Wray & Nephew (optional but delicious)

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Waffle Iron
  • Let it fully heat up so your waffles get crisp edges and cook evenly.

Combine All Dry Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together:
  • flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg
  • These spices give the waffles that signature holiday flavor.

Mix the Wet Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk:
  • eggs, eggnog, melted butter or oil, vanilla, rum (totally optional)
  • The eggnog makes your waffles extra rich and creamy.

Bring Everything Together

  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture.
  • Gently fold until just combined — don’t overmix! A few small lumps are okay.
  • Cook the Waffles
  • Lightly grease the waffle iron.
  • Pour batter into the center and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions until golden brown.

Serve & Enjoy

  • We love our eggnog waffles topped with:
  • maple syrup, whipped cream, a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon, rum caramel, berries or sliced bananas
