The smell of jerk chicken cooking in a hot skillet is unmatched. It fills your kitchen with smoky, spicy goodness. At Jerk Tavern, we love sharing real Jamaican flavors. Today, we’re excited to present our Skillet Jerk Chicken Thighs recipe. This dish uses bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs. It’s juicy inside and crispy outside. The bold, fiery flavor is what makes jerk chicken famous.
Soak the chicken with vinegar and lime or lemon juice. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes and rinse with water and pat dry.
Marinate the Chicken
In the bowl with the chicken pour oilve oil over the chicken, add jerk seasoning, browning, soy sauce, green seasoning, Then add adobo, black pepper, complete seasoning. Rub the marinade all over the chicken, making sure to get under the skin too.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for the best flavor.
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Sear the Chicken
Heat 1 tbsp of oil in your Karibe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the chicken thighs skin-side down. Sear for 4–5 minutes without moving them — this helps develop that delicious crust.
Flip and sear the other side for another 2–3 minutes.
Finish in the Oven
Put the skillet in the preheated oven. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Baste with juices halfway through for extra flavor.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
