The Best Ground Lamb Lasagna Ever

This is the world’s best lasagna recipe! Lasagna is Italian comfort food but this is not your traditional lasagna. For this recipe, we used ground lamb as our meat. We wanted to put a new spin on this classic pasta recipe!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb of ground lamb
  • 1 onion
  • 1 sweet pepper
  • Scallion
  • Thyme
  • 2 tsp of Paprika
  • 2 tsp of Ground Garlic
  • 2 tbsp of Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp of Salt
  • 1 tsp of pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 2 tbsp of jerk seasoning hot or mild
  • 1 tbsp of minced garlic
  • 1 bottle of marina sauce
  • 1 tbsp of Adobo
  • Ingredients for Ricotta Mix
  • 1 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/8 cup of basil
  • 1 cup of Parmesan Cheese
  • 3/4 cup of mozzarella
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 tsp of Cayenne
  • Ingredients for Pasta
  • Lasagna Noodles
  • 1 tbsp of of salt
  • 1 tsp of Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Season Ground lamb with 1 tablespoon of salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder,paprika, Oregano, and jerk seasoning.
  • In a Pot cook You ground lamb, onion, sweet pepper, scallion, thyme and garlic over medium heat until well browned. Stir in marinara sauce. Season with basil, salt, pepper, adobo. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted, pepper and garlic power water to a boil. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. Drain noodles,and rinse with cold water or place in a bowl of iced water.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) then, In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, Parmesan, mozzarella, remaining scallion , and 1/2 teaspoon salt, pepper and cayenne.
  • To assemble, spread 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange noodles lengthwise over meat sauce. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese . Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes; then remove the foil, and bake for an additional 25 minutes. Cool the lasagna for 15 minutes before serving.
