What Are Honey Hot Pineapple Wings?
These wings are seasoned, coated in a light cornstarch mix for extra crunch, cooked until crispy, and then tossed in a glaze of pineapple preserves, hot honey, and pepper jelly. Pineapple is a favorite Caribbean flavor, and paired with a little heat it turns a game-day staple into something your guests will ask about.

How to Make Them (Overview)
Season the chicken wings generously and let them marinate. Coat them in the seasoned cornstarch, then fry, bake, or air fry until crispy. Warm pineapple preserves with hot honey and pepper jelly, toss the wings in the glaze until fully coated, then finish with a quick return to the oven or air fryer to set the sauce.
Fry, Bake, or Air Fry: Which Is Best?
- Fry: The crispiest result, ready fastest.
- Bake: Hands-off, great for a big batch.
- Air fry: Crispy with less oil.
Choose the method that fits your kitchen. The recipe card has times for all three.
Tips for the Crispiest Wings
- Pat the wings dry before seasoning so the coating sticks and crisps.
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for the most flavor.
- Toss the wings in the cornstarch mix until fully coated.
- Flip halfway through baking or air frying so they crisp evenly.
- Glaze the wings right before serving, then set the sauce for the last few minutes.
Yogurt Pepper Jelly Dip
Whisk yogurt and hot pepper jelly together for a cool, creamy dip that balances the sweet heat of the glaze. It is the same sauce we use on our Caribbean Pepper Steak Tacos.
