Ripe Plantain: The darker the plantain the sweeter your porridge will be.
Green Banana: Pairs well with sweet plantain and oats.
Oats: You can use any kind of oats since we are blending them (we used old fashion oats)
Cinnamon: We used ground cinnamon but cinnamon stick or cinnamon leaf works perfectly fine.
Nutmeg: You can grate it or use the ground nutmeg ( You don’t need much of this because it’s a strong spice but has amazing flavor )
Condensed Milk: This we used to sweeten the porridge and make it creamy. I’m sure there are alternative condensed sweeteners for vegans. Use your favorite brand.
Sugar: Optional, you can use the sugar the condensed milk, or both (your preference)
Vanilla: What’s porridge without vanilla it’s essential!
Salt: Another essential! The salt enhances the sweetness and taste of the porridge, it just adds depth.

In Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean Islands we tend to eat our porridge with crackers, some crush their crackers in the porridge or some add it whole.
The next way is to break up hard dough white bread in it. I like to add butter to my bread then break it into pieces and add it to my porridge. My husband and son prefer to crush crackers in theirs.
Have it with a side of toast, and a side of fruit. Some people even have porridge with an Egg sandwich on the side.

Green bananas are a lot firmer than regular bananas which makes them harder to peel. The best way to peel green bananas is to cut the ends, make slits in the skin then peel as would a regular banana.
Ripe plantains unlike green plantains and green bananas are a lot easier to peel just cut the ends then slice down the back and peel.

Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;”
I Corinthians 13:4
Wisdom
Love is the foundation of Faith. For God so LOVED the world that he sent his only son to die for us. God is love. Without love we have nothing. Love fulfills the law and the prophets. Love does not harm anyone. It is the Spirit we should walk in every single day. Walk-in love.
That’s all Jesus did when he was on earth. He loves us all no matter what we do. He has forgiven all of us who believe in him, and we all have done wicked things in our lives. Christ shows us mercy because he loves us and he gives us grace. He loves us because none of us are worthy but Love covers a multitude of sins.
The commandments are to Love the Lord our God and Love your neighbors. Husbands Love their wives the way Christ loves his church. Gives the same. Everything thing you do, do it all with love and in the spirit of Love.
