What Ingredients go into Chicken Fried Rice?
- White rice – leftover rice from the day before works best.
- Jerk Chicken breasts – Dice the chicken into very small pieces.
- Oil – this is used for sautéing.
- Frozen vegetables– You can use the frozen vegetable to save time, but fresh will work too.
- Green onions – Chopped and sprinkle in for added texture, color, and flavoring!
- Butter– Add a little butter for more flavor.
- Eggs – Add 2-3 eggs here to stretch the recipe. Stir in a bowl first then add to the skillet.
- Low-sodium soy sauce – if you have regular sodium soy sauce that will work too, add as much as you need.
- Onion– Goes perfectly in fried rice.
- Oyster Sauce– This is a major flavor booster in fried rice and (don’t worry) doesn’t taste like oysters.
- Ketchup —the ketchup complements the fried rice recipe perfectly.

Tips for Making Great Fried Rice
- Cold Rice: To make the best rice you have to plan a little bit ahead of time. Chilled cooked rice is the best way to use up leftover rice as well as fried rice. Rice that is cooked and still warm does not cook well when making fried rice. It tends to turn out mushy and very sticky. That’s why we highly recommend making it the day before. You want the rice to be a little dry so it soaks up the sauces we’ll be adding.
- Use high heat: This will help fry and brown the rice and veggies well, and will also help prevent the rice from steaming in the pan instead of frying.
- Add in the bean sprouts last so that it remains crunchy.
- Prep all of your ingredients before firing up the stove.

“My son, forget not my law; But let thine heart keep my commandments: For the length of days, and long life, And peace, shall they add to thee.” Proverbs 3:1-2 KJV
Wisdom
In life, many rules and laws are in place for us all to follow. So we can function in society. We have the same thing when it comes to our Heavenly Father. He has laws and commandments for us to follow so we can receive the promises he promised us. The laws let us know that we are sinners in need of a Savior. And that Savior is His Son Jesus Christ. He died for sin so we all could be forgiven for transgressing the laws, now it’s up to us to keep the commandments. For on the commandments hang all the law and prophets. Never forget that we all were once sinners, though we have been redeemed by His blood. Continue in the faith, for the just shall live by faith. Keep His commandments. For they bring long life when we honor our father and mother. They bring peace when we obey the Prince of peace, by loving our God with all our heart, all our mind, all our soul, and strength. An love our neighbors the way we love ourselves. We are saved by the grace of God through the faith that we have in His Son. But that does not mean we live a life without rules or lawlessness. We must love Him, and if we love Him, out of love for Him, we will keep His commandments.
Storing and Reheating Leftover Fried Rice
Fresh is always best with everything and it’s the same for fried rice it’s best eaten the day it’s made, but the leftovers are always good! Store it in the fridge for up to three days.
You can reheat fried rice either in the microwave or on the stovetop. Sprinkle a tablespoon or two of water over top to help it stay moist, and cover the dish or pan to trap the moisture and prevent the rice from drying out.
