What is Rasta Pasta?

It typically features bell peppers in red, green, and yellow—colors that represent the Rastafarian flag—alongside jerk seasoning and a creamy cheese-based sauce. It’s a fusion recipe that combines Italian comfort food with spicy Jamaican ingredients.
While many versions are made with chicken or shrimp, this recipe takes it to another level with honey jerk salmon—adding richness and depth that seafood lovers will adore.

Why do they call it Rasta Pasta?
This dish is named Rasta Pasta, but it is not a part of the Rastafarian Culture. Rastafarians do not eat meat or dairy. But the reason for the dish’s namesake is because of the colors of the bell peppers (red, gold, and green).

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes! You can cook the salmon and pasta in advance and store them separately. Reheat the sauce and combine when ready to serve.
Is this Rasta Pasta spicy?
It has a mild to medium heat depending on the jerk seasoning used. Adjust to taste by adding more honey or using less seasoning.
Can I bake the salmon instead of pan-searing?
Absolutely. Bake at 400°F for 12–15 minutes or until cooked through.
What type of jerk seasoning should I use?
Both wet (like Walkerswood) and dry rubs work well. Wet seasoning tends to be more flavorful and authentic.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7
Wisdom
We hear the gospel. We believe that Jesus died for us. Every evil deed we have done in our life is forgiven. He begins to reveal Himself to you once you pick up his word and follow Him. As you start to read, you understand more of who He truly is.
You begin developing a “fear,” meaning respect towards Him. As we learn more about who He is, we also gain a deeper understanding of all the things He has done from the beginning. He is still doing these things. You realize how foolish it is not to believe in the gospel.
He is the Son of the living God who died for the world. He decides who goes to heaven and hell. All who do not “fear” Him will perish for lack of faith and knowledge in Him. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near, forsake your thoughts.
Begin to transform and renew your mind by knowing more about who Jesus is, and less of this world. For knowing Him is true wisdom, the wisdom of this world is vanity. Only what we do for Jesus will matter in the end. Seeking Him is true knowledge and true wisdom. To despise Him would be foolish. Only He has what we all desire, everlasting life in paradise.
