What Is Peanut Punch?
Peanut punch is a popular Jamaican drink made from peanuts, milk, spices, sweeteners, and often nutritional additions such as oats or stout depending on the variation.
Known for its creamy texture and nutty flavor, peanut punch is enjoyed throughout the Caribbean and is often considered both refreshing and filling.
The combination of peanuts, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon, and sweetened milk creates a flavor profile that feels comforting and indulgent.
For this recipe, we take those same familiar flavors and transform them into a frozen dessert that tastes remarkably similar to the drink.
Caribbean Ice Cream Series
One of our goals with the Caribbean Ice Cream Series is to showcase beloved Caribbean flavors in ways people may have never seen before.
We’ve explored flavors inspired by classic drinks and desserts, and these peanut punch ice cream bars continue that mission by turning another Caribbean favorite into a frozen treat.
The best part is that every bite still tastes unmistakably Jamaican.
If you’re a fan of unique desserts that celebrate Caribbean culture, this recipe belongs on your summer bucket list.

How to Make Peanut Punch Ice Cream Bars
Whip the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
This creates the light, fluffy base needed for no-churn ice cream.
Be careful not to overwhip.

Make the Peanut Punch Mixture
In another bowl, combine:
Fold Everything Together
Gently fold the whipped cream into the peanut punch mixture.
Work slowly to maintain as much air as possible.
This helps create a soft, creamy texture after freezing.

Fill the Molds
Pour the mixture into popsicle molds.
Insert sticks and smooth the tops.
Tap the molds lightly on the counter to remove air bubbles.

Freeze
Freeze for at least 8 hours or overnight.
The bars should be completely firm before dipping.
Melt the Chocolate
Melt dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl using 20-second intervals.
Stir between each interval until smooth.
For a thinner coating, stir in a small amount of coconut oil.
Dip the Bars
Remove the bars from the molds.
Dip each bar halfway into the melted chocolate.
Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
Add the Peanuts
Immediately sprinkle crushed peanuts onto the chocolate before it sets.
The peanuts will stick naturally as the chocolate hardens.
Freeze Again
Place the dipped bars on a parchment-lined tray.
Freeze for another 15 to 20 minutes until the chocolate shell is fully set.

Tips for the Best Peanut Punch Ice Cream Bars
- Use Full-Fat Ingredients– Full-fat ingredients create the creamiest texture. Avoid reduced-fat substitutions if possible.
- Freeze Overnight– A full overnight freeze produces bars that are easier to unmold and dip.
- Work Quickly During Dipping– Ice cream bars soften rapidly in warm temperatures. Have your melted chocolate and crushed peanuts ready before removing the bars from the freezer.
- Chill the Chocolate Slightly– Chocolate that is too hot can melt the bars. Allow it to cool slightly before dipping.
Variations
- Peanut Punch Crunch Bars– Fold chopped peanuts directly into the ice cream mixture before freezing.
- Peanut Punch and Stout Bars– Add a small amount of Jamaican dragon stout to the mixture for an adult version inspired by stout punch.
- Coconut Peanut Punch Bars– Mix in toasted coconut flakes for extra Caribbean flavor.
- Peanut Butter Swirl Bars– Swirl additional peanut butter through the mixture before freezing.
Serving Suggestions
These bars are delicious on their own but can also be served:
- Alongside fresh fruit
- With a drizzle of chocolate sauce
- As part of a Caribbean dessert platter
- At summer cookouts
- During family gatherings
- After a Sunday dinner
They pair especially well with iced coffee, cold brew, or a glass of homemade peanut punch.
Storage Tips
- Store the bars in an airtight container in the freezer.
- Place parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.
- Properly stored, they can last up to one month.

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalms 119:11 NKJV
Wisdom
As believers in the Most High, it cannot be explained how important it is to have God’s Word in your life. It reveals Truth, for He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. It is what brings us closer to Him. This allows us to know a little about Him and what He wants us to do in this life. It contains His law,
His statues, His commandments, His gospel, and even has prophecy and many stories that we can all relate to. Once we know his law we know sin so it helps us to refrain from sinning. There are prayers, songs, books of wisdom, knowledge and understanding. The Bible contains 66 books written by different authors that were inspired by God to write about Him. It keeps us in His will for our lives. Jesus said “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God”.
Jesus is the word that became flesh and he tells us to eat his flesh and drink his blood so we may have life. We must continue in His word the Holy Bible. Psalm 1 let’s us know that we should meditate in His law day and night, and we will become like trees planted by rivers of water, that bring forth fruit each season, whose leaves shall not wither and what so ever he does shall prosper. Knowing His word also helps us to build up our faith.
Wisdom Cont..
By believing in his words, the promises he promised us. Hoping and standing on what he says knowing that in the end he promises salvation to those who believe in him and his word. So long as long as we love Him and keep his commandments. Keep His word close to your heart. Keep Jesus in your heart. In revelation His name is The Word of God. John tells us in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.
Continue to read the Bible daily. We should make it our priority as believers in Him. Read the Bible from front to back. I once heard that Bible means Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth and I believe it. Before we all die we should know our Lord and Savior Jesus, whose story is only in the Bible. Read His Word and keep His word in your heart.
