But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. II Corinthians 9:6 NKJV
Wisdom
There has always been the saying, “You reap what you sow”. Others say “What goes around, comes around” or “karma”. For us followers of Jesus’ Messiah, His apostle Paul teaches us how to sow, what we should sow, and what not to sow. He teaches us to sow to the Spirit, the Holy Spirit that we received from Jesus, and to stop sowing to our flesh, our old selves, and our old habits, things that go against the teachings of Jesus and His apostles.
Paul lets us know that if we sow to the flesh, we reap death. If we sow to the spirit we reap life in Messiah. We also have the liberty to sow sparingly and to sow bountifully. As believers we should be careful to avoid sowing bountifully to our flesh, for sin separates us from God. But if we sow bountifully to the Spirit, we will get closer to God.
Start to reap the promises He promised us. When we go through things in life and we have His word in us bountifully, His word will reassure us of who He is, and why we serve Him. Jesus said to eat His flesh and drink His blood. Pray to the Father in Heaven and praise His Holy Name. I pray we all do this daily as a body in Christ, so we all reap bountifully in Messiah. Be lead by the Spirit, and abandon the flesh. Amen.
