Jamaican Goat Head Soup
Ingredients
- 1 pack Raw Goat Head
- 1 pack burnt goat head
- 1 lb yellow yam chopped
- 3 cho cho chayote peel and cubed
- 3 medium Irish potatoes chopped
- 1-2 medium carrot s (chopped)
- 1 lb Fresh pumpkin cubed
- Corn cut into pieces
- 2 Medium Dasheen chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 3 scallion chopped
- 1 large onion chopped
- 7 sprigs of thyme
- 7 pimento berries
- Water
- 1 Ram Cock Soup
- 1 Ram It Up Mix
- 1 scotch bonnet pepper
- 3 tbsp black pepper to taste
- 3 tbsp complete seasoning to taste
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 pound turnips diced
- 1/8 cup ginger peeled

- 2 cups of okra
- For the dumpling
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup water add more if necessary

How to Make Dumpling
- In a medium bowl, add the flour and salt.
- Add the water and mix to form a dough.
- Knead until the dough is smooth
- Grab a small (golf ball size) amount of the dough and roll it into the palm of your hands to create “spinners”. To make regular-shaped dumplings form the dough ball into discs.
How to Make the Goat Head Soup
- Bring a pot of water(your desired amount) to a boil with the goat head, garlic, onion, thyme, scallion, and pimento berries. Also season it with 3 tbsp black pepper, and 4 tbsp complete seasoning.
- After 1-2 hours your goat head should be soft or 30 mins to an hour in the pressure cooker. Remove the goat head and chop it up into pieces.
- Place pumpkin in the pot and boil until soft or dissolved. The pumpkin should have broken down.
- Add back the goat head and ram it up seasoning to the pot.
- While that is boiling chop up your roots and vegetables such as Carrots, Corn, Scallions, Onion, Potatoes, Yellow Yam, Chayote (Cho-Cho), Cocoyam, and Turnip and place them in a bowl of fresh water so that they don’t change color.
- After the pumpkin and goat head is boiled add in the scotch bonnet, Cho Cho, dasheen, carrots, turnip, yellow yam, and thyme.
- Then, season the pot with complete seasoning, adobo, black pepper, and salt.
- Make your dumpling aka spinners.
- Once all of the ingredients have been added reduce the heat to medium, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes until the soup thickens up.
- Add in your corn, okra, banana, potatoes, and ram cock soup mix and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Place spinners into the boiling pot of soup.
- And boil for 5 minutes then serve hot.
