Passover is one of the most important times of the year. It is a day to remember Jesus. That last thing He celebrated before His death. The Passover was created by YHWH, It was the day he passed over His people in Egypt. The death angel was sent to kill every firstborn son in the land of Egypt.
God sent the death angel because the pharaoh refused to let God’s people go. He warned the king of Egypt but he didn’t listen. God told his people to slaughter lambs and use the blood to cover the doorposts of their homes and when the sees the blood he will Pass over their homes with the plague. Now that Jesus, the holy lamb, the firstborn Son of God died on the cross, and shed his blood, he now has become our Passover lamb.
So we do this in remembrance of him, so his blood will continue to Passover us and our hearts to clean us and forgive us our sins once we repent. We partake in the Passover to remember Jesus Christ, and what He has done for us sinners. So in the end when He comes back for us saints, we can drink the fruit of the vine with Him in His Father’s kingdom. Hallelujah!
