Easily the BEST Crispy Crunchy Popcorn Shrimp

This Popcorn shrimp is easy to make and easy to eat! With a homemade spicy Polynesian and Chick- Fil- Sauce, they are completely addictive and you’ll want to just keep poppin’ them in your mouth!
WHY IS IT CALLED POPCORN SHRIMP?
Despite its name Popcorn shrimp does not contain “popcorn” This dish is referred to as popcorn shrimp because it’s bite-sized pieces of battered shrimp. These shrimp are often eaten by the handful, similar to the way you’d eat popcorn.
HOW DO YOU MAKE POPCORN SHRIMP?
Season the Shrimp with a dry rub. Mix mayonnaise and jerk sauce in a bowl and drop the shrimp.
After that add together flour and seasonings to create the coating for the shrimp. Toss the shrimp with a small amount of the seasoned flour, then dip each shrimp into water (yes we said water, this will give you a crunch like no other).
Coat each shrimp with another layer of flour, then place them in a pot of hot oil to cook.
Drain, then serve immediately with your choice of sauce on the side.
How to Store Leftovers
Seriously, we doubt you’ll have any leftovers, but if you do, you can store them in an airtight container in your refrigerator for 2-3 days. You can also pop them in the freezer in an airtight container for 3-5 months.
To reheat, simply bring them to room temp, put them on a baking sheet, and warm them in the toaster oven.
What do you eat popcorn Shrimp with?
Popcorn Shrimp can be eaten all by it self just dip it on your favorite sauce. But to make this a full meal you can eat this with Jamaican Rice and Peas, Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes, or eat it in a BBQ Cauliflower Taco, The Best Ground Beef Jerk Taco Ever or Jerk Shrimp Quesadilla.

Or come to eternal life? Abide in the Lord and let him abide in you unto life. For he is the way, the truth, and the life.
Chrispy Popcorn Shrimp
Ingredients
- Shrimp
- 1 tbsp go Garlic salt
- 1 tbsp of Paprika
- 1 tbsp of Red Pepper Flakes
- 1 tbsp of Onion Powder
- 2 tbsp of Black Pepper
- 2 cups of Flour
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup of Mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp of Jerk Sauce
Dipping Sauce Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of Chick-Fil-A Sauce
- 1/2 cup of Polynesian Sauce
- 1/4 cup of Ketchup
- 1 tbsp of Hot Sauce
Instructions
- * Clean Shrimp wash in lime and vinegar water
- * Season Shrimp with Garlic salt, Paprika, Red Pepper Flakes, Onion Powder, and Black Pepper
- * Whisk mayonnaise and jerk sauce in another bowl and toss seasoned shrimp in it coating each shrimp.
- * Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- * Place flour in a bowl and combine, Garlic salt, Paprika, Red Pepper Flakes, Onion Powder, and Black Pepper mix it well.
- * Gently press shrimp into flour to coat and shake off excess.
- * *Don’t miss this step for extreme Crispness. Get a bowl of water and place a strainer in the bowl of water, then place the shrimp in the strainer. After the shrimp is covered in the water drain off excess water (see video below).
- * Gently place the shrimp back into the seasoned flour and make sure the shrimp is fully coated in flour.
- * Deep fry shrimp in preheated oil until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer shrimp to a paper towel-lined platter to drain.
- * Then it’s time to serve.
