““Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”Exodus 20:8
One of the most debated Commandments that God gave to His people is His Sabbath day command. We know that the Sabbath day is the 7th day of the week. When we look at our calendar, universally Sunday is the first day of the week, no matter where you are in the world.
6 days God created the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them and He rested on the 7th day, and hallowed it as a day of rest. He commanded that we rest with Him on His rest day, He wants that day holy for Him. None of His commands are bad, we as believers should strive to keep all 10 commandments out of love for Him.
For some reason majority of believers don’t keep the one He said to remember. There is no harm that can come from keeping His commandments, especially the Sabbath day command. It is a day of resting from all our labors, just as He did, and dedicating that day to rest with Him.
Meditate with Him, read, pray, worship, talk, feast, and have dinner with Jesus on His holy day. It’s like a family meeting day but instead we meet with our Heavenly Father on that day, once a week. To talk, to chat, spend time with Him, like a father-son or father-daughter relationship. It’s the only command He told us to remember.
Remember Him, remember Jesus and what He has done. He set apart that day for us. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.
